Look Who's Turning 2

I seriously can't believe two years have gone by since we met our precious girl, Lillian. She has significantly changed our lives for the better and I thank God everyday for her. Her smile alone brings me so much joy. We started our weekend our with a delightful surprise, Lilly's great aunt "More T" and great grandma "More Gram" decided to take a road trip from Alabama to Texas for Lilly's 2nd birthday party. We were so excited and happy to see them.

On Sunday the whole family gathered at our house to celebrate Lilly's birthday.

Gram made Lilly this pretty blanket

This is what a guy does at a 2 year old birthday party, draws football plays. Silly Danny!

Lilly loves her new doctor kit

I made Lilly a special magnet board for her birthday.
I was really happy with how it turned out. It was a HIT!

I'm not sure what I was thinking scheduling a birthday party in the middle of a New Orleans Saints game but believe me, I learned my lesson. Robert almost missed singing "happy birthday."

Speaking of the "Happy Birthday" song, Lilly didn't like it too much. I don't think she liked being the center of attention.

She didn't want to eat the cake at first but once she took her first bite into the yumminess of the cake ball she wanted more.

FULL of Energy

Life with a toddler is so much fun! She definitely keeps us on our toes.

Lilly has been increasing her activity level just in the past week. It's been a little hard keeping up with her to be honest. I am so happy that Lilly loves soccer. I played soccer since I was 5 and I loved it and enjoyed every soccer-filled weekend. My parents always encouraged me to be active and play sports and I want the same for Lilly. I think she is a natural really. Look at that plant before the strike. :) I'm not sure if she is going to be a lefty as pictured but she can kick far with her left foot. We played for about 30 minutes and it was so much fun. She also loves running and man she is fast. Before I knew it we ran as far as the length of 2 soccer fields.

Lilly also is started to play dress up, wanting to wear hats and hair bands and clips. I love it because I can put her hair up in cute ponytails. She also likes playing with my hair. I had a "mommy moment" last night when getting ready for bed. I found a butterfly clip in my hair. I guess I just admitted that I didn't brush my hair since that morning when Lilly placed it in my hair. :)

I am just amazed how much Lilly has learned in her two short years. She can now sing her abc's, count to 15 and memorize books. Her favorite book is Brown Bear. She will "read" that one to anyone who will listen.

Sweet Lilly with her favorite book. She loves to cover Clover with blankets to keep her warm and help her go "night night." I am so blessed to have patient dogs because Lilly definitely puts them to the test.

We recently had some family pictures done for Lilly's upcoming birthday. I am so happy with how they turned out.

Mommy's sweet baby girl. I hope she always lets me cuddle with her. Lilly's new thing to say is "I want to hold you" or I want to Hug you." I LOVE IT!

Today we celebrate the grandparents in our life, both here and gone. I know my grandparents helped shape me into the woman I am today and I couldn't be more thankful for that. I look at Lilly and I know that she is soooo very blessed to have two sets of awesome grandparents and one set of great-grandparents that love her. Thank you for loving, spoiling and caring for our baby girl.
