Saints vs. Cowboys

As Robert is gearing up for the football season he has been asking Lilly to repeat some phrases like "Who Dat" and "Go Saints." He has also been teaching her some other phrases regarding a Dallas football team as well. If you don't know already, Robert is a New Orleans Saints fan and he despises the Cowboys. His mom, however, LOVES the Cowboys so you can expect there might be some tension if her granddaughter is saying negative things about her favorite team. After Church today we were on our way home and Lilly said "Go Away Cowboys" (one of the phrases Robert has been teaching Lilly). Well the next thing I hear is my mother-in-law saying "Robert we need to have a talk." It was pretty comical to listen to. Sorry Ann but I think Lily is destined to be a Saints Fan. You might have to convert your football love to another team and cheer for the Saints. know I am stretching that statement a little but a girl can only ask to keep the peace. :)

Recently Lilly has been making these crazy "surprised" expressions. Robert and I love them!
I know I keep saying this but I think this is my favorite age right now. She is so much fun and full of personality. Yes she has her moments, but hey us adults do too right. :) In all seriousness, Lilly is such a good natured girl. We are so very blessed.

Thanks Gram for my new dress!

I Want Go To Church

I love when we get Lilly into a routine especially when it involves going to Church. On Sunday we got Lilly dressed and ready for Church, fed her and made sure she was a happy camper while Robert and I got ready ourselves. Well this past Sunday Lilly was very vocal about leaving and expressed to us that she was ready to go to Church. Hey I don't mind at all being rushed by this sweet baby girl if she is eager to go Praise God. Just melts my heart to hear those words come out of her mouth. I think this is one of my favorite videos.

Have I mentioned that Lilly LOVES puzzles. She has mastered all the puzzles I have bought her thus far. Her favorite thing to do is hand you all the pieces and she will instruct you where to put them (usually it is on your leg as shown below).

The Gold Cup game was on Sunday afternoon and while daddy was studying for his finals so Lilly and I left the house to visit T and Unc.

Lilly Loves her Unc

This child is a bottomless pit when it comes to chips. So is mommy. :)

GO USA!!!

Lilly was getting a little restless at the restaurant so we returned home and enjoyed our front row seats to watch the game. She dragged her chair in front of the TV and started watching. I was fast enough to take a photo because she didn't stay seated for long.

This was a very busy school week for Robert with two finals and a presentation. He did great on all his exams and Lilly and I are so PROUD of him. Thank you Robert for being a great daddy and making time for family while working full time and going to school full time. Only one more year to go. You got this!!! We love you!

Hi-Ho Hi-Ho off to Gatesville we GO

This weekend we went to Gatesville to see Gram, More Grama and More Papa. We had a rocky start to our trip with the traffic on 75. I found out really quickly that there are several stages of boredom for Lilly. It was bumper to bumper traffic so I had the opportunity to capture a few pictures to prove the boredom. She started out by making sounds with her mouth, then moved on snacks, then a little picking of the nose, then more snacks (bad mommy) then she asked me to sing ABC's, "twinkle twinkle Little Star" and "Itsy Bisty Siper" about 20 times. Don't know how she can stand to hear me sing...I'm awful. She also liked to repeat everything I said to and learned a new word "Horrible" (I might have been talking about the traffic) which came out of her mouth as "hobble." I am so thankful that country roads have cows and horses (or as Lilly calls them "Moo's" and "Haurry's") they were my saving grace towards the end of our trip. I didn't think we were going to make it but the animals kept her entertained for a good 15 miles.

It was all worth it when we arrived because we were greeted by grandparents with lots of hugs and kisses to give out. It was late when we arrived and all the frogs were out in the pond. Lilly enjoyed seeing them with her Gram and so did Bitsy.

On Saturday we decided to take Lilly to the splash park but she wasn't having it. It surprised us because she normally loves the splash park and she had been to this one before. She just stayed by her Gram's side the whole time.

Lily enjoyed her time with her More Grama and I enjoyed watching them play. More Grama told Lilly stories of when she would read to Robert when he was a baby and how she taught him his ABC's. They looked in books and magazines and played with puzzles for hours. Just melts my heart to see Lilly with her great grandparents. Nothing better than a great-grandma's love.

Time for some backyard fun

Now that is some crazy hair!!!

Lazy Saturday for Bitsy! She isn't spoiled at all.

After church we had a had a nice lunch out. More Grama was tickling Lilly and she was giggling like crazy. That laugh is so infectious, you can't help but giggle yourself when you hear her.

More Grama loves her Robbie!

A sweet moment between Lilly and More Grama after church this morning. No dry eyes here.

This girls loves quinoa and playing with a spoon apparently.

Enjoying the nice summer rain out on the patio with More Papa and daddy.

It was time to hit the road and head back home. We enjoyed every minute of our weekend with the grandparents. Love you Gram, More Gram and More Papa. See you soon!

Visit from More Grama and More Papa

Robert's grandparents (known to Lilly as More Grama and More Papa) came to town this past weekend and we had a lot to be thankful for. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. What a great example that marriage is a sacred bond and and is long lasting. What a blessing to look forward celebrating all those years to come with Robert.

We went to a restaurant called Texas and had a great dinner. Well hopefully Grama and Papa had a great dinner. Some of us had to venture out to the patio a few times because a little girl was being loud and running around the table. I have come to the conclusion that if we take Lilly out to dinner we should either join the 4:30pm dinner crowd or go to a place that is so loud that it wouldn't matter if she was screaming. We took the dessert home and enjoyed a yummy carrot bundt cake. I think everyone went back for seconds.

Sunday after Church Lilly's grandparents and T came over to have some breakfast. Lilly got a new puzzle this weekend and enjoyed handing out all the pieces then taking them back one by one to complete the puzzle. It took her a few tries to master this puzzle. Such a smart girl (mom's bragging moment).

Tickle time with Gram!

Then after a long nap we went over to T and Unc's house and enjoyed a family gathering.

Move over Bailey, I want to sit down.

Then it was a fun game of "move the chair across the living room." That lasted for about 5 minutes. :)

Freedom Day with Family

Any day is a great day to spend time with family but this day is especially wonderful because we celebrate our freedom. It makes me think of how much I take my freedom for granted. If you stop to think about it, we have it really good. Yesterday was great and I can't wait to teach Lillian the true meaning of Independence Day!

We enjoyed some fun family time at Aunt Stacey and Uncle Danny's. We got to swim and have a relaxing day by the pool. there was even a game of very competitive pool volleyball. My team won (Me, Stacey, Danny) and my mom's team was talking some game for sure (Mom, Uncle Richard and Aunt Lori). I will spare everyone the details but mom you know your game name. :) ha!

We love Aunt Stacey! So sweet in her American outfit. Love this photo!

Lilly playing with her puzzle that Stacey and Danny got her from Mexico.
Lilly loves butterflies!

Swim Time!!! Lilly is a water baby for sure...well until it's bath time.

Playing with Daddy on the floor. Big Hugs!

My sweet niece Taylor. Love her!

The only photo of me and Lilly. She wasn't too happy.

All the cousins together. Love my girls! Lilly has a new name for Kaitlyn, "KK"

I captured a sweet moment when Lilly decided to sit next to Stacey and fold her hands to pray.

I think she is ready for Mari Gras. Another gift from Mexico. Thank you Memaw!

She didn't nap with Stacey but crashed shortly after coming home yesterday. It was a fun day for sure.
